10 Simple Tips To Get More Page Views Per Month ~ Must Read

IF you need a traffic on your website or blog then no need to use Paid Traffic Follow these simple steps and Get 2,50,000 Page view per Month.

1.Get some professional help at the start
We paid a small amount of money to get our blog designed by a professional at the start as well as getting somebody to add in the proper SEO plugins. Since then we havent really touched it design wise and have instead focused on the content. If you are serious about blogging or creating a business around your blog then you should invest a small amount of money at the start making it look professional.
2.Integrate Facebook wherever you can
Facebook is the most important social media tool we use in terms of bringing traffic to our site. It accounts for just over 18% of the traffic on our site and the 11,000 odd Facebook likes we have are people who come back to our site on a repeat basis to consume our content. Make it easy to share your content through Facebook and if the content is good enough it will spread like wildfire.
3.Forget about getting traffic from Twitter
Many people get obsessed with Twitter as a social media tool that drives traffic but let me save you lots of time and energy now because it simply does not. Less than 1% of our traffic comes from Twitter on a monthly basis despite some of our stories getting 100s of Retweets. You can certainly share the odd link through Twitter to gain some new readers but it is not the magic formula that you have been looking for.
4.The old blogging tricks still work best
Read many of the great posts on there or on any of the other great blogging advice sites and theyll give you great advice like to make sure you add catchy titles (probably why you are reading this post in the first place), to write often and to guest post on other blogs. These are old pieces of advice but in a world where people are obsessed with social media and the new tools those are the tools that by far and away work the best. They are the easy wins.
5.Give everything away for free
As a business we sell advice on social media. We also do a very strange thing in that we give that advice away for free on the blog all the time. There is nothing in our heads that we keep for ourselves but instead focus on sharing as much of that knowledge as possible. By giving valuable advice away you make sure that people keep coming back to your blog for more advice and thats how you build and audience. People are selfish, if they are coming to your blog they want something for free and that is what you will have to offer.
6.Be Social In The Real World
A huge amount of people who read our blog are people that we have met in the real world. Being social online is one thing but forging a social relationship with somebody in the real world is still far more powerful than anything. Try and attend conferences within your niche, meet people with similar interests and if relevant share your blog with them. If you are lucky enough to be able to speak at any events then work your blog in to the presentation and pitch yourself as the person of authority on your given subject.
7.Use rich media content if at all possible
Text is great and its an important part of blogging but not everybody is a good writer and even people who can write should try and support their content with rich media content if possible. I think it helps you stand out form the crowd. What do I mean by rich media content? Photos, videos, podcasts, diagrams, slidehows or presentations. The technology is there now for you to post most of these things for free and theyll push your content out even further to new platforms.
8.RSS is still the dream subscriber
These days youll see plenty of ways to subscribe to blogs including email, Twitter and Facebook to name but a few but one stands head and shoulders above all the others for me and its the oldest one in the listRSS. Getting an RSS subscriber is getting somebody who is totally committed to receiving your content every single day. I cherish RSS readers in a way that I would never think about Twitter followers or Facebook likes. The social subscribers are doing it as an impulse but an RSS reader is somebody who wants to get your content every single time you publish it instantly. You should take RSS subscribers over everything else in my opinion.
9.Build A passionate community around your blog
This is by far the hardest point on the whole list and there isnt really any written rule on how to achieve it. The one thing I think you have to do most is be nice to everybody and reply to as many comments as you physically can. Comments on your blog, comments on Twitter, comments on Facebook or Youtube or wherever the person has left a comment. People fly through the web these days pausing for a second at a time on sites these days so if they are taking time to leave a comment oon your blog then the very least you can do is stop and answer them. Building community take a lot of time but you should never underestimate the power of word of mouth when it comes to your blog or business and a passionate community is just about the most powerful thing around today.
10.Never give people the hard sell through social media
Once you build a community or a large audience for your site the temptation is always there to try and sell to them or to push your products. We never ever write blog posts asking people to use our services. Make no mistake that they can find our services within one click if they are looking for them but well never push them because people can smell the hard sell a mile away and theyll never go for it and youll end up pushing them away instead. The idea with social media is to engage people and have a meaningful conversation with them. That is what works best in the long run.

Top 5 Ways Of Achieving Blog Success By Helping Others

Quicken publisher Intuit introduced a completely free SMS based product in India named Fasal which is specifically targeted to helping farmers determine what to harvest when, and how much the going market price is. Without the benefit of refrigeration in Indias vast and poor agricultural areas a highly perishable crop such as figs can go from too green to eat to perfectly ripe to completely rotten in a matter of a few days.
The data exchanged through Fasal has helped more than half a million Indian farmers fine tune their agricultural procedures so that they can get their crop to the right market at the right time and get the best price for it. Bloggers can take a page from Intuits altruism to do good and benefit from an overall aura.

1. Align with a customized fundraising site

Bloggers are accustomed to driving traffic to their own blogs so it might sound like sacrilege to direct readers to external sites, but when its to URLs like crowdrise.com (an online fundraising platform) theres a definite upside.
You can create your own fundraising pages on the site, select from over a million charities to determine which one you want your readers to support, and share all this information on your social network presence.

2. Assist a local cause

Its easy to locate in your local area a cause you can help with, whether its serving meals to the homeless or holding a bake sale to get new equipment for the high schools chem lab.
Local initiatives are far less complex to set up than any national appeals so you will be able to organize it all in your spare time with the help of friends and neighbors both on your social networks and face to face. You might not directly get more readers, but the halo of being a good citizen will pay clear dividends for your blog in the long run.

3. Raise funds for a worthwhile charity

There are very few activities that any blogger can participate in which provide such tangible benefits as being identified as a committed raiser of awareness and funds for a charity with a cause which resonates with your readers. Each blog is different and thus the non-profit organization you align with should be relevant to your field.
If your subject is pets, provide assistance to an animal rights or wildlife charity; if you deal with electronics, raise funds to help poverty-stricken Third World recycling workers who live in unbelievably toxic environments; and if your topic is food, adopt a child through a non-profit which provides nutrition in the worlds poorest areas.

4. Develop an app

You dont have to write a smartphone blog to know that apps are hot, and the development of a specific, basic app is a possibility for any blogger even if you dont have a clue about programming.
There are many sites which allow you to contract freelance programmers around the world to work on a contract basis and you can get an reasonable app developed for pocket money. The app shouldnt directly promote your blog but do some good for someone. Maybe set aside a penny for a charity each time an NFC payment is made, or show on a map where the nearest donation box for clothes and household effects is located.

5. Convert reader activities to $

A site called bettertheworld.com allows anyone to raise money for any given non-profit organization by simply downloading a sidebar and surfing the web. The bar displays relevant ads on the pages and each click puts much-needed cash into the charitys coffers. Your blog readers and social media followers are navigating all over the web anyway, so why not help convert this activity to help a valid fundraising cause?
Doing good not only makes you feel good, but it helps your readers feel good about your blog as well. Bloggers everywhere are discovering the value of altruism. Will you be the next blog writing adopter of the philosophy of doing good is good for everyone?

Meet the People You Need to Meet: LinkedIn in 5 Simple Steps

LinkedIn is perhaps the most  game changing tool to come along in the world of networking since the invention of the business card. In the past, to network with people who could help you with your business or career, you had to physically go to a networking event. You had to go to your local Business Networking International meeting, your local Toastmasters club or your local Chamber of Commerce to meet like minded people.
This took time and could only be done every once in a while. Even the most avid networkers could only manage about one mingler a day. Most wont even go to one a month. LinkedIn changes all that by making networking all digital. Today, connecting with the people you need to connect with is just a few clicks away.
That said, navigating the world of LinkedIn can be very tough. Movers and shakers have dozens of connection requests every week. How do you make yourself stand out, so you can build a relationship with them where so many others fail? These five steps will help.
1. Come Up With a Winning Value Proposition
Before you connect with someone, think of something valuable that you can do for his or her company or career. Dont go looking for handouts.
In other words, dont begin a new interaction with someone youve never met by asking them to help you get a job. Instead, come up with a way that you can help them. This is the value proposition youll use in your initial message.
2. Find People wholl Compliment Your Business or Career
Look for people who could help you move forward in the world. Look through your friends connections, your clients connections and your business associates connections.
Look for people with whom you could form a win-win relationship. For example, lets say youre a real estate agent. Ask yourself: What kind of people could you find win-win connections with? One answer might be a mortgage broker or loan associate.
People will often go to get pre-approved for a mortgage before they go looking for homes. People will also often look for homes before theyve secured financing. Both of you will be able to refer business to one another. Win/win.
3. Making the First Contact
The first contact should be all about them. Lead out with your value proposition. Tell them exactly how you want to help them and why itd be worth their time to accept your connection and discuss your proposition further.
Make your first message concise, to the point and powerful. Dont tip toe around the issue. Your value proposition should be powerful enough to get people to listen. Going on and on will just dilute the power of your message.
4. Think Relationship, Not Transaction
People often look at LinkedIn as a single transaction that theyre trying to complete. For example, theyre trying to get this person to give them a job interview. Or they want someone to connect them with an investor. Its a one-time transaction.
Real LinkedIn power connectors dont think this way. Instead, they think in terms of relationships. They aim to connect with more people and build real relationships with more people.
In a great relationship, youll regularly help one another out and continue to benefit each others lives and careers over a long period of time. If youre getting in contact with movers and shakers, this is often the onlyway youll get them to do things for you. They simply dont have time to help people whore just there for a one-time transaction. Winners and to work with people wholl help them win in the long run.
5. Help Connect Other People
Finally, help connect other people. Once youve been using LinkedIn for a while, your network will be considerable. People will come to you asking for connections. Or, even without asking, youll spot people in your network who should really know one another.
When you spot these connection opportunities, act on them. Help people meet other people. Helping connect two people whod benefit from one anothers connection is one of the highest value things you could do for someone. You help two people and generate a lot of professional goodwill in the process.
If you follow these five steps, youll be able to meet just about everyone you want to meet on LinkedIn. Whether youre looking for an employer or an employee, an investor or an investment, a vendor or a client, these steps will help you find them, connect with them and develop a relationship with them.

11 Simple Tips That Guarantee More Comments For Your Blogs

I am sure I am not the only one who burns with envy when the neighboring blog receives more comments than mine does, or even worse, the neighboring blog receives a glut of comments, while my blog cant even muster one. Apart from making me feel that my blog and I should be living under a rock, it almost makes my persistent fear that my blog has no actual readers fairly real, which is no good for a blog or a blog writers self-confidence. Its every blog writers worst, confidence-sucking fear a post not receiving enough or any comments. So, how can any self-respecting blogger persuade his or her readers to leave [more] comments? To issue a confirmatory sign that all the efforts that go into the running of a blog arent in vain? To engage daily in a spot of virtual hand-holding so that the said blogger can grow strong enough to withstand future, commentless days without turning near-suicidal?
My dear fellow bloggers, today, Id like to let you in on a few trade secrets that can help you garner more comments and increase your sense of blog-worth considerably You are welcome!

1. Invite Comments -
Yes, as simple as that. Let your readers know that you are keen to hear from them. Most blog readers are expert lurkers, spending hours on end at a blog, but seldom letting their presence known with, you know, a comment. Regulars (especially) are usually a little in awe of the writer and hence a trifle embarrassed to comment. Think getting tongue-tied when meeting a celebrity, its a similar emotion. So, you the blogger should try your utmost to put your readers at ease, and let them know unequivocally that youd like to hear from them.

2. Compel Them To Comment
Making your posts conversational, and peppering them with questions that invite your readers to share their opinions on whatever that youve written about is a stellar idea. While you are at it, ensure that the topic youve chosen is interesting enough; current, popular, even slightly controversial ones will give your readers an impetus to comment. For example, write a post about your take on the Tiger Woods incident(s) and all the brouhaha over it, a topic that is current as well as suitably controversial, your readers will be more than eager to offer their two cents worth.
3. Reward Your Readers  You may think that the posts you write are rewards enough, but if you continue in that perception, you might as well bid all hopes of comments goodbye. Setting up fun virtual prizes and awards can help acknowledge your readers presence and at the same time express your continued gratitude for it, and hence, can prove to be a surefire way to elicit more comments and evoke more loyalty from them. For example, you could set up Reader Of The Month or Best Comment of the Day awards and have the winners name displayed on your blog; it wont cost you anything, but sure will make your readers feel cherished.

4. Guest Posts From Your Readers -
Stir things up on your blog with a little reader interaction. Invite a reader, preferably a regular, to write a post for your blog. Thatll give the other readers something to talk about, you can be sure. In addition to providing more flavor to your blog, such a move will help the readers feel more connected to you.

5. Reveal Your Soft Underbelly
Well not literally, of course. Adopting a slightly self-deprecating approach or talking about things you are spectacularly bad at, or even revealing the most irrational of your fears will make it easier for your readers to relate to you, and tell them that you are just like them, with your anxieties and silly fears and everyday problems. Having said that, youll have to strike a balance between being relatable and whiney; too whiney, and you run the risk of losing whatever few readers you have (and you dont want that, no sirree, no).
6. Comment on Others Blogs - Do unto others what you wish they did to you; that is the first commandment in The Big Book Of Blog Commenting. Linking opportunity aside, commenting regularly on blogs you enjoy can result in acts of reciprocation. Though not necessarily a quid pro quo deed, you can be assured that if you leave meaningful comments on other blogs, those bloggers will take note of it, and quite possibly repay you in comments.

7. The Comments Thread Is A Live Thing
Thats right, your readers dont leave comments then just sit back and relax. Through their comments, they are trying to speak to you, and they want, if not expect, you to respond (if you dont, youll come across as the rude neighbor who refuses to acknowledge you when you say hello). Respond to the comments, if not all, then as many as you can. Once youve coaxed your readers out of their shyness and made them comment, you cant just leave them there; you need to nurture the thread by posting your responses and make them feel their comments are valued or, at the very least, read.
8. Be Nice!  Such a simple thing to do, but so many of us fail at it. If your posts make you come across as a pompous windbag, all theyll elicit are spammy comments. Humanize your blog as much as possible; make your readers feel as if they are talking to a friend; let them know that the mere act of blogging doesnt make you better than them; make them comfortable enough to comment without worrying about your turning snarky. Think of yourself as the host and your readers the party guests, now, roll!
9. Make Your Blog Comment-Friendly  Your readers primary aim, when at your blog, is to read, not to comment.Commenting comes later, after the reading, depending on how theyve taken to your post. Not quite an afterthought, its usually an activity performed towards the end of your readers stay at the blog. At a point when the readers have all but checked out of your blog, they wont take kindly to having to logging or signing in before commenting; its an unnecessary step theyll have little patience for and can very possibly cause them to take a rain check on the commenting. If you want them to comment, make it easy for your readers to do that without any hassle. Simple.
10. Tried And Tested Topic Does The Trick  In other words gauging your reader reaction, and giving them more of what they have enjoyed in the past will work like a charm. Yes, this presupposes that youve had some good-comment days in the past. If you have, trying out this tip will help recapture the magic of that past day and bring you more comments today. Analyze your earlier posts to find the topics that usually garner more comments from your readers and write on similar themes. Do note that this method can backfire if your posts begin to seem repetitive and patently rehashed.

11. Birds Of A Feather
You may not have noticed it, but your readers and you probably have a lot of similar interests, case in point they coming back to read what you write. So, if you take the effort to check out the other blogs they read and join forum discussions they are a part of, you dont just learn more about your particular area of expertise or interest, you also get fodder for your posts that can reference these blogs and forums. Your readers will love you more for it and will be more forthcoming with their comments.
Try implementing a few, if not all, of these nifty tips and youll see a definite turn in the comment tide, and youll soon learn to go through the odd bad-comment day without wanting to give  in to tears. And you will see that they can also greatly contribute to your efforts to make your blog more popular. This is my take on the matter, you may have  other methods that you find more reliable, Id love to hear about them. Feel free to share your opinions and tips in the comments section below.

Powerful Tips for Marketing on Facebook

Finding a good place to showcase your products, services and websites for free in the online world is a dream for everyone Facebook has made this a reality. With half a billion Facebook users and thousands of online communities to choose from, Facebook has brought potential customers much closer to you.
Its no big secret that Facebook can help you in online marketing. However, I know there are many of you who believe that just registering on Facebook is enough its not. Your Facebook success story ends before it even begins!
There is much more to marketing on Facebook than just creating a profile.  Keeping your fans engaged is the key. Dont be a brand, but be a community they love being a part of. In this article, Im going to tell you how you can use the medium of Facebook to increase your customer base as well as retain the ones you have!

CREATE YOUR PRESENCE ON FACEBOOK

1.   Facebook Profile: By creating a profile for yourself or your business, you are establishing your identity. This will take you a long way in developing relationships with fellow users and in positioning your business. You profile lets you interact with people on a personal note, more so if its a local business. Here are some aspects of a profile page:
o    Profile Picture: Always put your best foot forward, which means use the most flattering picture as your profile picture.  No matter what they say, a book is judged by its cover. I came across M.A.C makeups profile and thought it was really catchy with the colors used on the face. Hundreds of indifferent people with little time to spare are going to decide whether to add you based on your picture. So, make sure you get this one right!
o    Add Friends: After creating a profile, dont wait for things to happen. Add new friends every day and the word will spread that youre on Facebook. Before you know it, youll be starting your day by accepting friend requests! However, make sure you dont add more than 25 30 people a day as excessive adding can get your profile removed from Facebook.
o    Wall: This is your main platform to interact with Facebook users. Post messages on your wall and also comment on members activities, though, only when relevant. A cafe once commented on my status when it was something about food. And there! A personal connection was built in a second! I knew that I was going to visit this place more often. However, make sure you dont spam people every other day or they may remove you from their friend list.
o    Photo Albums and Videos: Photos and videos are a great way to showcase the latest collection of your product. I know many people who love to see what goes on behind the scene during a photo shoot or while a baker does his magic in the kitchen. Moreover, the first thing most Facebook users check are photo updates. So take that camera and start shooting!
2.   Fan Pages: Facebook Pages, known as Fan Pages, are designed for businesses, brands, companies, products and celebrities. It enables public figures, organizations and other entities to create an authentic and public presence on Facebook. You can encourage users to become fans of your page and share information with them by uploading pictures, videos, status updates, hosting discussions and displaying wall posts. Unlike Facebook Profiles, Pages are visible to everyone on the internet and are generally better for long-term relationships with your fans, readers or customers.
3.   Groups: Facebook Groups allow people to come together around a common cause or activity to express their views. One of the best features of groups is the ability to send messages directly to members Facebook inboxes.  Its a great way to form a community and help your brand image.
Nowadays, its almost a necessity for movies to establish their presence on Facebook during its post-release period as Facebook users look for movies here. The good thing here is that you can send bulk invites to your friends, while it is manually done on Pages.  Groups are generally better for hosting quick active discussions and attracting attention.
4.   Events: Simply put, Facebook Events can help you connect with your target audience and invite them for your events, even if they arent on your friend list or one of your fans. Events can be created individually or even from Profiles, Pages. What I like is that Facebook gives you a choice between making the event Public and Private.
Let me explain the difference. I got an invite from Alanis Morissette Unplugged Acoustic Performance for a show next month, though Im not a friend or a fan. This is an open invitation for a public event where anyone can access the page and RSVP to it. However, if you want to maintain an exclusive guest list, choose the Private option and the event page wont be visible to anyone except those you choose. If youre planning a launch or celebrating a landmark event, the Private option lets you selectively invite people and give details on a page that cant be accessed by anyone else.
The Next Step: HOW TO USE FACEBOOK FOR ONLINE MARKETING
Social Media Marketing is still in its infancy. I consider this as an advantage because there are not many set rules, you can try & experiment with different methods & techniques. However, if you dont want to experiment, here are some tried and tested methods that will ensure success:
5.   Be Unique and Keep Updating: Theres nothing more boring than bland Facebook pages. Add lots of personality andfun to your profile. If possible, try to create applications just for your page. Offer something different so that they keep coming back, instead of letting them wait for updates from you. If you check Dells Facebook page, youll see that it keeps updating its status and gives new information on their products and about technology.
6.  Use a Big Profile Picture: Who says size doesnt matter? Using a big profile picture is one of the best ways to brand your Facebook page. Facebook allows images of up to 200pix wide x 600pix high to be used as profile images Pages. This way, you stand out in a crowd.  Check out Bob Marley page on Facebook and youll know what Im talking about.
7.   Tag Fans in Photos: You can tag your fans in pictures of new collections, or even ask them to tag themselves as a part of a game or contest. Musician Lenny Kravitz uploaded pictures of his concert in Italy in 2009 and asked everyone to tag themselves. This gave him good publicity as the update on being tagged appeared on the fans walls.
8.   Exclusive Landing Page for Users: Use different pages to target different sets of people. Take new users to a page that encourages them to Like you or to a page they would find interesting enough to keep coming back. Members/fans can be directed to the wall or a game page that might interest them. Red Bulls profile page is designed in a way that users are given a hint to Like the page, while fans are taken directly to the Wall. You can get innovative in designing landing pages and targeting different people.
9.   Reward Loyal Supporters: Encourage loyal supporters to join yourPage and reward them. Tabs or badges like member of the month that can be placed on their profiles for visibility can be awarded to them. A happy customer on Facebook can get you lots of attention.  Remind users to Like and Share information about you. When their friends see the updates on the News Feed, its highly likely for them to do the same.
10.   Use Contests and Polls: Holding contests encourage fans to interact directly with you. Dominos Show Us Your Pizza is a contest where people can send pictures of Dominos pizzas theyve orders. The best picture will be chosen by Dominos and the photographer gets a prize of $500 and a chance to get his picture featured in an ad. This has received a lot of attention from Facebook users.
11.   Actively Participate Outside Your Page: Find other Facebook pages related to your industry or topic using Facebook Search & start actively commenting on their posts & updates. This is a great way to build relationships in your industry and even adds credibility to your business. If youre willing to offer free advice on communities and discussions, it will encourage people to check your website out.
12.   Integrate Facebook Social Plugins to Your Site: When I go to CNNs website, I can see what stories my friends have Liked, or what movies my friends Recommend on IMDB. The Like button on your site enables users to share pages from your site back to their Facebook profile and the Recommendation button gives users of your site personalized suggestions for pages that they like. There are many more buttons like LikeBox, Comments, Live Stream etc that you can add to your website. With this, you can see for yourself what your target likes and design your product/service accordingly.
You can also integrate Facebook Connect Plugin in your blog which will enable Facebook users to leave comments on your blog without registering. The comment they make will be put up on their wall instantly which will be visible to all their friends. So, you effectively get a lot of exposure without doing much!
13.   Marketplace: With Facebook Marketplace, you can buy and sell anything using the listing service. The Marketplace application page displays all the most recent listings in your networks. The difference between normal listings and the Marketplace is that you dont see another boring list of business, but they show up as the sites own updates. For example, a sales listing would show up in news feeds as John is selling Abstract Art. In this case, John can be a friend of your or even a friends friend. You can find out what people want, what they are offering and also how you are connected to these people on Facebook. This is what the page looks like:
14.   Dont Just Write for an Audience of Teenagers: Its time we free ourselves of this misconception. Facebook isnt filled with youngsters. Though Facebook has many youngsters who belong to the age group 16 to 25, we see an increase in the number of people from other age groups who use Facebook regularly. According to Pingdom, 61% of Facebook users are over 35 years old. In fact, the 26 34 age group rivals the 18 25 age group in both the US and the UK. So, make sure communicate to your target the right way.

Top 10 Tips to Tweet your way to 1000s of Followers

If getting Twitter followers seems like a mystery to you, read this article carefully.
Getting Twitter to work for you is just like getting anything else in business to work: You need to first figure out a good system that works for you by testing a number of different things, then implement that system regularly.
Here are ten different ways you can increase your Twitter followers. Some of these might work for you, some might not. The only way to know is to try.
1. Springboard Your Followers With Existing Platforms
Do you have a blog, an email list or an active Facebook page? If so, springboard your Twitter follower base by posting something about your Twitter feed on your existing platforms.
Make sure you place a tweet icon or follow icon on each and every page of your website.
2. Give Away Valuable Content
The #1 thing people want on Twitter is valuable content. All the other marketing tactics really wont matter if you dont have valuable content being published on a regular basis.
Write your tweets as if you were writing a direct short message to your target audience.Make sure its packed with juicy tidbits or links to valuable resources.
3. Be As Controversial As Possible
Take on controversial topics. Explore the other side of the argument. Make statements that get people riled up.
While you might alienate some people by being controversial, youll also get a lot more exposure. Exposure means more followers.
The people who end up following you and becoming your fans are the people youd want to attract anyway.
4. Retweet All the Time
Retweeting is a win/win for everyone involved. The person youre retweeting will be ecstatic that you helped spread their message. Your followers will be exposed to new content that you like. And youll get more followers, as well as the goodwill of fellow tweeters.

5. Follow a Lot of People
Most active Twitter users watch their followers very closely. If you follow someone, theres a very good chance theyll follow you back.
In other words, if you want to get 300 additional followers, one of the fastest ways to do that is to simply follow 500 people.
6. Tweet Often, Many Times a Day
Twitter is a medium where you can literally tweet every 15 minutes and not burn out your audience. In fact, thats the way Twitter is meant to be used.
Tweet often to keep your posts on top on your readers Twitter feed. If you dont update often enough, your Twitter feed will get stale.
7. Use Twitter to Rank in Social Media
You can use Twitter to help you gain rankings on sites like Reddit, Digg and StumbleUpon. If you get ranked, youll get more visitors, which means more followers.
How do you do this? Its easy: Just ask your followers to go to the post and click upvote.
8. Write Detailed Posts Every Once in a While
Short and snappy posts tend to be the core of Twitter. But every once in a while, make sure you use all 140 characters and stuff as much useful content in there as you can.
9. Tweet in High Traffic Times
What are the best times to tweet? Look through other peoples feeds and your own retweet history to see when people tend to be most active in your industry and location.
Make sure that youre tweeting during those times of day, even if you have to use third party services to schedule your tweets. This will help get you maximum exposure per tweet.
10. Do Favors for Other Tweeters
There are many ways you can help other tweeters out. You can retweet their stuff, you can refer followers, you can repost their content, you can publically recommend them.
Doing people favors will help you get favors in return when youre doing a promotional push. Start building your favor bank early, before you even need it.
These are ten powerful ways to increase your Twitter followers. Use a combination of these tactics to build your own follower-building strategy.

How engaging is your Facebook page?

How engaging is your Facebook page? When people land on your page, do they feel inspired to engage with you, or do they simply like your page and never return?
Getting someone to like your page is simply the first step in a long two-way relationship. Its not the end goal. Once someone has identified themselves as a fan of your organization, thats when the real work begins.
Heres how to engage your Facebook fans.
Aim to be Interactive
The idea is to pull your users into engaging with you. The dialogue should be a two way street. Engaging users isnt just about putting out great content, its also about pulling the user into interacting with you in meaningful ways.
A lot of brands make the mistake of just sending content at their user in a one-way street. Instead, aim to be interactive. Get your user base involved.
Ask Questions
One easy way to get your user base involved is to ask questions. Multiple choice questions as well as open ended questions both end well.
The questions can be related to your market or current events, they could be personal or they could just be random and off the cuff. Experiment with different kinds of questions to see what your user base responds best to.
Create Polls and Quizzes
There are many, many tools you can use online to create interesting polls and quizzes.
Polls and quizzes are a fast and easy way for people to interact with you and with one another. The quiz should ideally be very short, only about 10 to 15 questions long. It should feel like a fun and entertaining thing to do, rather than a survey.
Try Hosting a Contest
To take user engagement to a totally different level, try hosting a contest with a juicy prize.
Theres nothing that generates user engagement quite like a good contest. A good contest will bring people around a common cause and can get a ton of people to really excited and passionate about your brand.
If you can, try to tie your contest back to your Facebook page. For example, make it so that whoever is winning is posted on your Facebook page every night, so friends of your fans will naturally join your page to see if their friend is winning.
Should You Get Personal?
Getting personal with your fans is one effective way to engage your Facebook fans. If your brand allows for it, you should absolutely go for it.
Instead of just keeping your status updates business related, try asking your readers random things about their personal lives. What did you want to be when you grew up? or Have you seen Avatar yet? can help build rapport and commonality, even when they have nothing to do with your target market.
Share Meaningful Content
Another way you can engage your fans is to regularly share meaningful videos, news articles and content pieces.
A good percentage of these content pieces should be created and published by you. However, theres no harm in also linking to other peoples content if you believe your audience will love it.
Dont overdo the content linking; but as long as what youre linking to is relevant and your user base is getting value out of it, youre good to go.
Comment on News Events
One area that often gets a lot of people engaged is news items. If theres a hot news item going around, comment on it with your own thoughts and opinions. Then ask your audience what they thought.
Make sure to avoid political discussion however, as thats an easy way to alienate people.
These are a few different ways you can engage your Facebook fans. Get creative. There isnt a set formula when it comes to Facebook. The key is getting people to communicate in a two-way street, so they feel part of your brands experience, rather than just being talked at.
