Updates On The PTC websites I Have Joined

I am going to run down and do an update on each site I joined and let you all know how that is going.

Hits4Pay - I believe in my Hits4Pay video I mention joining their affiliate builder program. It says I have had 2 referral signups, yet they do not show for me as referrals and my earnings have not increased. I opened a support ticket with Hits4Pay to find out how all that works. I could just be in the wrong but when paying the $5.99 to use this program I was under the impression if they signed up under my link it would be a referral to me. Once I hear more I will update.

The site is a slow earner so I am only at $6.30 but getting there.

NeoBux - This is the website I invested $10.00 dollars in on rented referrals. I have 4 days and then these referrals are done. My earnings are up to $9.81. Which is good but a bit disappointing. However I discussed PTC issues with another user. Below is some of what we talked about.
"Do you think most people make their money from rented referrals?" His response was yes because direct referrals are hard to get and keep active.

We also talked about the fact that 50 referrals is fine but you need 100s maybe even 1,000s to make any sort of money with it. All good notes to take in. I've read a few books about NeoBux and one tactic mentioned is to recycle referrals  with clicks at 0 for an average. This cost 0.07 cents so I did it a few times, but should again as I have 3 needing recycling...

ProBux - I did not invest actual money on referrals with Probux, instead I used my own balance to get referrals. I got 3 rented referrals and up to $1.41 in earnings now, it cost .60 cents to rent 3 so not bad I made my money back. I also click my ads on this website as well. I do need $5.00 dollars to cash out though so when I reach that I shall post it to my blog.

The Bux - I am not sure how to feel about The Bux. The website at times is so slow it bothers me. For 2 days I had issues clicking which was quite terrible really so I decided to say "The hell with this" and withdrawn my earnings.

So you can see I got $6.38 from the bux, and I actually got my payment fast so that was enjoyable.

So I made some earnings, took a while but got some money back. I will try and keep everyone up to date on these websites and how its going with them.

Mistake #1: Not Having a Clear Goal

Why do you have a blog? How does it benefit you and your readers?

You need to know the answer to these questions in order to have a clear goal for your blog. For instance:

• If your blog exists to make money, then your goal might be to reach $1,000/month through sales of a digital product.
• If your blog exists to establish your expertise in your niche, then your goal might be to get named on lists of �top ten� blogs.
• If your blog exists for you to build up a writing routine, then your goal might be to post a 500 word piece every day.

None of these goals are �right� or �wrong� � but you do need to know what you�re aiming for.

Fix it: Work out your main purpose for your blog. Set yourself a medium-term goal (something you could realistically achieve within a year).

Mistake #2: Formatting Posts Badly

I come across a lot of excellent writers who are producing blog posts that simply won�t get read. Why? Because they don�t pay any attention to formatting.

It�s physically harder to read on a computer screen than on paper, and most visitors to your site will be distracted by email messages, Facebook, Twitter, Skype � you need to make their life easy.

You can:

• Write shorter paragraphs than you normally would
• Use bullet-points to help break up the text and to increase the white space on the screen
• Use bold text to highlight key points
• Use subheadings to divide your post into major sections

Fix it: Take a look at your most recent post. Does it look attractive and easy-to-read at a glance? If not, look for places where you can add formatting.

Mistake #3: Erratic Posting Patterns

If you don�t post anything for months, then start posting every day for two weeks, only to burn out and stop again � your readers are going to get fed up.

There�s no rule about how often you should post � but you should try to be consistent. That means keeping the frequency of your posts roughly the same from week to week and month to month. If you do decide to make changes, phase them in gradually (and make sure you can keep up the pace).

You can be a bit flexible (e.g. posting twice one week and three times the next) but you shouldn�t have long periods of no posts at all followed by a rapid-fire stream of posts; you�ll overwhelm your readers.

Fix it: Come up with a blogging rhythm that works for you. Remember, quality is better than quantity!

Mistake #4: Poor Editing of Posts

Although most readers will be tolerant of occasional typos, constant mistakes can really damage your chances of success. If your posts are riddled with errors, or obviously dashed off at the last minute, can you really expect readers to feel confident about buying your products or services?

Once you�ve finished a post:

• Set it aside for a few hours or even overnight. It�s easier to see errors when you can come to the post with fresh eyes.
• Read it through carefully: don�t rely on your spell-checker to pick up every typo.
• Rewrite any sentences or paragraphs that are repetitive or badly phrased.
• Consider asking a friend to give you some feedback before you hit �publish�.

Fix it: Build editing time into your blogging schedule. That might mean writing posts a day ahead, so that you�ve got time to go through them again before publishing them.

Mistake #5: No Call to Action

This is probably the worst mistake I see � and sadly, it�s very common. Many bloggers just end their posts without giving the reader any clue about what to do next.

The final few lines of a post is a great opportunity to encourage readers to dosomething (this is called a �call to action� by marketers). You could ask them to:

• Sign up for a mailing list
• Subscribe to your blog
• Leave a comment
• Buy your product
• Share your post on social media
• � or pretty much anything else that would be useful to you!

A brand is way more than your logo and slogan. The overall style that defines you as a blogger can tell people to expect this and that from you. People tend to like what they recognize. We give trust to things that all to something familiar. If you make it easy for anybody to perceive who you are and you stick to that persona you�ll surely make a good impression in the long haul.

To state it upfront: diversity is undeniably good when you are a blogger. You can settle upon a wide range of topics to write about, you get to revamp the site from time to time and explore new ways to express yourself on the social media. A brand�s life is more relaxed in the blogosphere than, for instance, in the B2C world where each product has to create strong recognition in order to sell. We all know that.

Clean your blog�s appearance

Admit your own biases publicly if they exist

It�s pretty hard to keep 100% unbiased � and actually few blogs try to. The essential thing is not to camouflate your partialities behind a fake objective tone, or you will lose credibility. First of all, choose carefully who you advocate and make sure you do believe in that party, so that you can write about it in a convincing manner. After that, go ahead and tell people: �This is me and those are my beliefs; now hear what I have to say�.

For instance, if you�d like to advocate Microsoft and hence you love Internet Explorer, make your readers aware of that, so that they won�t be intrigued that you refused to review their app just because they�re on the Firefox bandwagon. You got my point. Maybe you�re not in for Pulitzer award, but anyhow it�s good to be honest.

Use whitelabels

Customize and adapt everything that may interfere with your public presence and wipe out parasite messages. For instance, we often use third party services to create and disseminate web forms and surveys, newsletters or press releases. In respect for your own image, all materials that are sent to the public should display your own logo and bare the minimum identification elements of the original service.

I really am tired of those newsletters I occasionally with a prominent Vocus mark on their headline. It takes me some 5 seconds to realize the message is actually from a financial blog I subscribed to, and this thing sucks. Consider spending a few bucks more and maybe buying a license for the sake of having a whitelabel material that you can customize for your own brand.

Design a brand-centered Facebook fan page

Apart from the website itself, Facebook is the second best piece of web real estate for your blog. Customize your fan page to display the distinctive appearance of your blog. The cover photo can be a sample of your site�s header or a combination of graphics that resemble it, like Lifehacker has. You can unleash your creativity with the Welcome tab HTML � make it speak clearly about your brand!

Remain a real person

A friend�s advice: don�t let your own personality be assimilated to the blog itself. You are the head of it, but you may lose opportunities of networking and personal development if you incorporate your image totally in your work. Put up a profile for yourself on social networks, apart from your business pages. This way you will add value to your business online presence, by proving there is a real human behind it.
