Tips On How To Become A Better Blogger

This is a follow up article for the How do I Start a Blog and Make Money Online series that we have been publishing on this blog to help the newbies get started with a blog. This article covers some good practices that you should develop to become a better blogger.

1. Chose The Right Topic For Your Blog

There is usually a big debate on which path to go down when choosing the topic of your blog. If you decide it then you should have fundamental concept of topic that you chose for blog. Some will advice you to find a niche that people spend money in and focus purely on the profitability. Others will say dont go for the money at first, focus on your passion because things that you personally enjoy and know about will be easy to create good content on and in the process you will make money. I will leave it up to you to decide but I can only suggest that you consider both sides of the story before making up your mind. Some people can remain motivated because of the process, not the topic but that doesnt work for me. I need to enjoy the topic.

2. Challenge Yourself

You might be an expert on the topic that you cover but it can become boring if you write from the same angle all the time. Get out of your comfort zone a little, learn more about the complex areas of your topic and present some interesting facts of your discovery to your readers and they will respect your effort.

3. Create Your Own Style

When you write try to add your own opinion or flavor that will make your posts unique. If you write about something technical then think how you can make it easy for the average readers who are not very familiar with the technical terms. Why should visitors keep coming to your blog when other bloggers are also writing on the same topic? It is your unique styles that will help you stand out in the crowd and make your blog different than a regular one.

4. Show Your Passion And Credibility

Building your reputation is very important. You need to gain the trust of your readers before they listen to you. If you talk about Green Peace then you need to let your readers know how passionate you are about it. This is where choosing a blog topic that you are passionate about helps. Let your visitors know how involved you are and what you have achieved so far. Humans can smell bullshit very easily so dont just lie to your readers as this will ruin your credibility. The visitors who will be coming to your blog are most likely passionate about your blog topic so if you are not seriously involved then why should they listen to you and read your blog?

5. Know Your Readers

If you have a good understanding of your readers motivation, passion, need then it will be a lot easier for you to write articles that your readers will appreciate. Visitors most likely come to your blog because they either want to learn something or they are looking for a solution so you need to provide them with what they are after. Try to put yourself in their shoe and be on the lookout as to how you can satisfy them.

6. Be Consistent

Consistency is one of the keys to be a successful blogger. Make a routine of how often you want to publish new posts on your blog and try to stick to this routine. Do not worry too much about profit when you are starting out. Think in terms of adding tons of value consistently and the money will come.

7. Be Clear, Short And To The Point

The trick is to get your readers attention quickly. Statistics show that on an average most readers will decide if they are going to read the full post or not in the first few seconds after they land on an article. Having a nicely formatted structured post with short paragraphs and bullet point does the job. Dont make the post unnecessarily long, divide them into short paragraphs and use bullet points or numbered list for ease of reading. Also use sub-heading so the readers can easily find the information they are looking for and always stay on topic. If you fill up your post with irrelevant information, readers will loose interest and leave your blog.

8. Proofread Before Publishing

I used to get too excited to publish a post as soon as I was finished writing it when I first started blogging. I didnt used to spend any time to find spelling and grammatical errors. Lots of grammatical and spelling mistakes on an article will turn off the readers. So proofread your article before you hit the publish button. If possible, ask a friend to proofread your article. This can help greatly when you are starting out as its hard to find your own mistakes at first.

9. Involve Your Readers

As I have mentioned before that a blog is more interactive than a traditional website which is the reason blogs are so popular. Through interaction you can create a good bonding with your readers. So try to get your readers involved in your blog by asking them to leave comments, participating in surveys etc.

10. Reply To Comments

Reply to the comments left by your blog visitors. If someone has taken the time and effort to leave a comment on your blog then the least you can do is reply with a simple Thank You or answer their question. If you have a really popular blog and you get tons of comments daily then it may not be practical to reply to every comment left on your blog but in general replying to a comment shows that you care about your visitors so try to do it.

11. No Shortcuts

You need to understand that there are no shortcuts to success and its definitely not going to come overnight. Try to add value to the community, be consistent, hard working and patient and blog success will follow.
If you apply these simple tips you can become a Better Blogger.
Hope you like this post, If you have any query in your mind you are free to leave comment.
Don't Forget to share with you friends....Thanks

8 Tips To Get Traffic From Online Forums

Forums have been around since the earliest days of the Internet, and people have been using them ever since to drive traffic to their websites. While theyre not hip and sexy Web 2.0 darlings like Twitter or Facebook, forums are still a great way to drive targeted traffic to your blog. Below are 8 things you need to keep in mind when using forums as a traffic driving strategy.

1. Pick the right forum

Choosing the right forum(s) to participate in makes a big difference. Hopefully youre already an active member of a forum or two. If not, hopefully youre at least aware of some of the popular forums that cater to your niche. If thats still not the case, Google YOURNICHE forum or check out Big-Boards.com.
If there are multiple forums in your niche, you should focus on being active in just one forum at first. You dont want to spread yourself too thin, and you want to be sure you become a prominent member of the community. Thats hard to do when youre trying to post in half a dozen different forums. Once youve become established in one, then you can determine whether joining another would be best for you.
If youre not already active in a forum and you have multiple forums to choose from, there are a couple points to consider. How large and active is the forum? You wont get much traffic from a forum that has 30 members and the last post was six months ago. Do you like the look of the forum? Ive chosen to participate in certain forums because I just like the way theyre designed. Does the forum allow signatures? Some forums dont allow signatures, which will make it harder for you to get traffic (see the Put a link in your signature section below). And finally (and perhaps most importantly), do you like the community that has built up around the forum? Youre going to be spending a lot of time there, so make sure you like the kind of discussion thats going on.

2. Choose your username carefully

Your username is your brand out there on the forum for everyone to see, so it needs to be chosen carefully. Ask yourself what message you want your username to send. Using your name as a username gives your interactions with others a more personal feel than if you just used the name of your blog or business. Its important that you username fits in with your niche and the forum. For example, if youre posting to a realty forum and the forum community youre posting to has a very professional feel to it, youll obviously want to steer clear of usernames like xfallenangel1987x.

3. Put a link in your signature

Your signature is the couple lines of text that appear below each one of your forum posts. Putting a link to your blog or to a particularly good post is the backbone of any solid forum-based traffic strategy. This is how youll get the majority of traffic out of the forum.
A standard signature will include the name of your blog and maybe your blogs tagline or what your blog is about. Linking to an especially informative or interesting post can also be a good strategy if you want to drive traffic to certain parts of your blog. Remember that you can also link to a newsletter signup page to help grow your list.

4. Craft your profile carefully

Your profile is what people see when they click on your username, and it usually consists at least of your avatar, a short bio, and a link to your website. Most often, your avatar should be a picture of you. We like to know that were interacting with a real person, and a photo gives a face to the name and helps create a more personal interactive experience. If you prefer anonymity, then use anything you want as long as it fits in with 1) the feel of the forum, and 2) the image of your blog or business. Using the realty forum example again, you wouldnt want your profile pic to be a funny animated .gif of a guy getting hit in his private parts with a baseball. Likewise, you wouldnt want to use a serious, black and white photo of yourself if youve got a fun and colorful blog about funny YouTube videos.
Your bio should include relevant information about you. Again, make it professional, but dont be boring and one-dimensional. Sure, talk about how much experiences youve got in your particular field, but also talk about any other interesting information about yourself. If youre on a rock climbing forum, you could state that youve been rock climbing for 12 years, that you are an avid backcountry skier in the offseason., and that you love watching Lost. Give people more reasons for them to interact with you.
And while were on the subject of getting people to interact with you, be sure to include a line in your bio (preferably at the end) that you welcome people to contact you with any questions or comments. This can help people feel comfortable about coming to you for any additional help or information beyond what you provide in your forum posts.
Many forum profiles have a space for your websites URL or the URL of your favorite website. Be sure to put your blog in there!
Finally, take advantage of any other profile features your forum might have. Some forums let you enter your Twitter handle, for example. Others let you enter your other interests. Use these elements to further differentiate yourself from others, to establish yourself as an expert in your field, and to set yourself up as a person people want to interact with.

5. Dont be spammy

When youre networking with people in person, you dont shake their hands and immediately stuff a business card down their throats. You want to get to know the person a little bit before interacting with them on a professional level. To put it another way, you wouldnt go all the way on a first date, right?
Sure, youre using the forum to promote your site, but that shouldnt look like the main reason youre there. Stick around the forum for a while before you start promoting your blog openly. No one likes it when the forum users first and only post is, Hey guys! Check out my sick awesome new blog!

6. Provide quality content

Weve all heard that Content is king for getting traffic to your blog and getting people to subscribe to your blog. The same applies to forum posts. For example, dont just respond to a question by saying Yes or No, but justify your response with a clear, well-thought-out, informative, helpful reply. Provide the best content you possibly can. Link to other resources both inside the forum and elsewhere online to provide even more helpful content.
Another tactic you can use is writing content especially for the forum. Think of it like guest posting for the forum: you provide your own content for free to the forum, and in exchange you get more exposure for your blog. At the end of the forum post, you can include a line of text that says something like, This was written specifically for the Whatever Forum. If you found this information useful, check out my blog at WhateverIsAwesome.com. Youre adding value to the forum while at the same time giving people a reason to check out your blog. Win-win!
Having said all of that, not all of your posts need to be long and epic. Quality content can be as simple as posting a funny YouTube video that a lot of people in the forum community can enjoy.

7. Start new threads

If someone opens up a thread to read it, that person is obviously going to read the first post in the thread, right? The first post in a thread gets read more than any other, so being in that position is a great way to leverage your forum posting.
Its important, however, that you start the right kinds of threads. If youve got genuine questions about something, then by all means ask about it. If you dont have any questions, a great way to go is to ask peoples opinions on a topic that they all can have input on. If youre posting to a mountain biking forum, for example, ask people what theyd do if they had $5000 to spend. Would they spend it on a new bike? Upgrades to their current bike? Travel to that place theyve always wanted to ride? More examples can be asking people on a Corvette forum to post sweet pics of their ride, or encouraging members on a photography forum to post links to their portfolios.

8. Post often

Forum posting isnt the best passive traffic strategy. You cant just spend a week posting multiple times a day and then sit back and expect the traffic to roll in forever. The threads that you spend all that time and effort posting in will eventually be pushed further and further down the page until they disappear from page 1. Its sad, but thats just the way it is. Participating in and getting traffic from forums is very much an active process. To get the best results, you really need to commit to it and make it a regular part of your blogging process.
Above all, just try to enjoy the experience. Hopefully youre talking about things you like, and you might as well be building blog traffic while youre at it, right? In addition, forums are great way to get post ideas for your blog, so keep your eyes peeled.
Pick a forum, do your best to become part of the community there, apply the above 8 points, and youre sure to see the traffic start to come. Good luck!

4 Ways to Improve Your Content and Your Online Revenue

Make it short and to the point.
In order to be successful for the web, you will need to write in a way that is easy for people to scan your content.
Consider breaking up a complex topic into a series of posts. Its a great way to keep people coming back for more, and readers will find it easier to take in your content if it is in smaller parts.
Format your paragraphs into the inverted pyramid style. Do this by stating your conclusion first, then supporting it with the rest of the content. Scanners are able to move from point to point easier, and focus on anything that interests them.
Once youve followed the pointers above, follow the simple techniques below to design a more reader friendly content. By following these simple pointers, you can turn a mass of words into a more engaging piece for readers to take in.
1.    Introduce the line break.
You can make complex ideas more readable by adding in more line breaks to create more white space. Try to limit one idea per paragraph, and keep them brief; around 3 4 sentences at most.
And try writing some paragraphs with one sentence only.
2.    Break up your content with compelling subheads.
Try to write your headline and subheads first.
Writing a strong headline is crucial to getting readers to come check out your content, with subheads acting as mini-headings will keep the content flowing well and get them to continue reading.
Be sure to make you subheadings interesting and informative as well. Try to make the article not too full of exaggerated, or else it would sound forced and loose credibility.
Once youve created your subheads, review them and see if the person that is reading it will understand that part of the article if that was the only part that was read. Is it compelling and informative enough?
3.    Use bulleted lists
-    They quickly catch the readers attention.
-    They are easy for readers to take in multiple points.
-    They are different from the rest of the text, so they give readers a visual break.
4.    Use strategic formatting.
Add emphasis on the most important concepts by using bolding on your copy. That way, readers are able to scan and find the most important information at a glance.
Try not to highlight everything though, only highlight the key points so that the scanner can find them quickly.

Most blogs fail because the audience views and opinions are not listened to. If you are serious about getting traffic to your blog you should try to listen and talk to your audience. If a person has visited your blog and left a comment you should at least try and thank the person for that. If a person leaves a comment on your blog and the next time he visits he finds that there is no acknowledgement for it he may move away and never visit your blog again.

5) Post frequently
Dont just blog once a week and expect to get traffic to your blog. Try to post at least once in two days if not daily. This will help to keep your readers entertained and interested. So posting regularly is also a great way to drive traffic to your blog.

Five Killer Resources to Secure a Great Domain Name

In the world of web sites and online marketing, your domain name is everything. Having a domain name that describes your business in one or two words is an excellent way to build and brand your business for the future.
Unfortunately the majority of quality and generic domain names in the world are already taken. With that in mind, its important to know where to look and how to get your hands on domain names that may be up for expiration or even for sale.
We will even talk about how you can contact someone who might already own your domain name and potentially work out a sale of your own. These are some of the same practices Ive used to acquire some amazing domain names like the one at my latest blog: PPC.org.

Five Resources for Getting a Great Domain Name

1.) Use Domain Name Expiration Services

There are plenty of services and web sites out that there just monitor domain names and make it a business of buying and selling these domain names to new customers. Do you have a domain name in mind that someone already owns, try services like NameJet.com and Pool.com to build a waiting list that will notify you if the domains ever become available.

2.) Online Auctions and Domain Marketplaces

Just like there are sites for domain name expiration, there are also plenty of web sites that deal with web site and domain sales. You can always visitEbay.com to see what domains they have available, but since they are not a focused business on just domains and web sites, its usually rare to find any quality listings. Flippa.com is one of the largest site and domain auction sites on the internet. Make sure they are on your list of places to look to buy existing domains and web sites.

3.) High End Domain Resellers

The high end domain market will always be an interesting one. While some people find it hard to imagine paying $100 for a single domain name, some domain names are sold for millions of dollars. For high end domain name purchases and sales, be sure to visit sites like Sedo.com andGreatDomains.com. These sites will help you find high end domain names that are for sale, or can also be used to sell your own domain names.

4.) Webmaster and Domain Forums

No matter what type of webmaster or marketing forum you are on, there is probably some discussion about buying web sites and domains. Dont be afraid to make a posting of your own about a domain that you may be looking to buy. Someone on the forum probably has a domain name that you are looking for, or at least knows a few good resources. WarriorForum.comDNForum.comand NamePros.com are all great places to network and communicate with other domainers and webmasters.

5.) Contacting the Domain Owner Directly

When all else fails and you cant seem to find a great domain, your last resort may be trying to contact the actual domain owners that you are looking to own. If there is already a web site or business running at the domain name you are looking for, its a lot less likely that you will be able to buy the domain name. There are also services out there that will do the contact and buying process for you. You can find domain ownership through Whois searches or using domain buying services offered by GoDaddy and other domain registries.

Five Simple Ways to Add Value to Your Content

Are readers getting real value from your posts?
Hopefully, youre sharing ideas, giving advice, or providing inspiration but you could probably still use a few extra tricks to make your posts brilliantly useful for your readers.
Here are five simple ways to add value to any post. (You might want to pick one or two each time you start a new post and you could even go back through your archives and try some of these on older posts, particularly any which get lots of search engine traffic.)

#1: Give Do It Tips

Its easy to give information but are your readers really implementing what they learn from your blog? Make it easy for them with simple tips for putting what they read into practice.

#2: Link to Useful Resources

Whatever youre posting about, links can help give extra value to readers. For instance, if youre writing a guide on setting up a blog, you might want to link to a post on choosing a great domain name.
Some links could go to other posts on your blog (great for decreasing your bounce rate and for improving your SEO). Others could go to posts on other peoples blogs (great for building relationships with fellow bloggers and for showing your expertise by pointing readers to useful resources in your niche).

#3: Add Formatting for Easy Reading

Subheadings, numbered points, bold text, blockquotes all of these make it easier for your reader to take in what youre saying. If you have a long post without much formatting, try breaking it up into sections. Write clear subheadings that let the reader jump straight to the information that interests them.

#4: Give Concrete Examples

When youre explaining a concept, give readers an example. For instance, if youre telling them to write compelling headlines for their landing page, include at least one (and probably more) examples of actual headlines.
Your examples might be screenshots, videos, photos, quotes, case studies anything that helps readers to truly understand what youre saying. Make them specific, and if necessary, take the time to explain them.

#5: Tell Readers Where to Go Next

At the end of your post, make sure you give readers some guidance on what to do next. That might be one suggestion to get them started on implementing your advice, or it could be a link to a related post on your blog.
This is also a great way to incorporate your call to action. Look for ways to encourage readers to do something that benefits you and them: for instance, you might suggest that they join your mailing list for more help with a particular topic, or you could ask them to leave any questions for you in the comments.
So its your turn! Head on over to your blog and take a look at one of your recent posts. Choose one idea from above, and use that to give your post even more value. Then come back and pop a comment below to let us know what you did. If youve got any other great suggestions for adding value to posts, let us know about that too.

How to Make Money on eBay

How to make money on eBay was one of the first things I wanted to know about when I first started learning how to make money online. eBay was new and hot! If you would ask how to make money fast, eBay was one of the first things everyone would point to.
I had heard of many people who were already making a living selling things on eBay. But, I had no idea what to sell on eBay. I was clueless. I had no idea what things to sell on eBay. Clearly, I had a long way ahead of me.
So, I started reading and learning and went from selling unused stuff to buying wholesale and selling on eBay for a profit. It took a while to make any decent amount of money, but it was all worth it. I learned a lot of things from my experience in trying to learn how to make money on eBay. The most important lesson I learned with eBay selling is that the amount of money you can make on eBay, depends heavily on researching and finding the right items to sell on eBay.
In the past few years, eBay has changed dramatically, so did selling on eBay! But, eBay still is a great option, you can still sell on eBay and make money. Thousands of people are still making a great income selling things on eBay. You can sell anything from electronics to reports about making money online and anything in between. Getting started on eBay is fairly simple and easy. All you need to do is find out what products or services are on demand, and buy or create those products or services for a low price and sell them on eBay for a profit.
If you want to learn how to make money on eBay, here are a few ways that I have personally found to be the best ways for making money selling on eBay:
Sell your unwanted things on eBay
Everyone has things to sell on eBay! Most people start making money on eBay by gathering their unused items and selling them on eBay. All of us have these kinds of items laying around the house, garage or in the attic. A lot of those items are not going to be used any way and probably will be thrown away any way. So, why not sell them on eBay and make a little extra money no matter how small.
Offer your services on eBay
You dont necessarily have to be an experienced web designer or a fortune teller to make money on eBay. Look deeper, there must be something, a talent, or some kind of knowledge that you possess that many people might be willing to pay you for. A simple example would be offering people who have a lot of stuff to sell on eBay, but dont have the time to do it themselves, or dont know how to do it, to sell their stuff on eBay for a commission. These people could be your friends, family, neighbors or anyone else for that matter.
Buy from wholesalers and sell for a profit
There are whole seller in almost any category you can imagine. You can buy a product that usually costs $10, for $2 if you buy in bulk. The most important thing to remember is to know what to sell on eBay. Choose a product that is hot and find a wholesaler. Buy in bulk for cheap and turn around and sell them on eBay for a profit.
Most beginners who are trying to learn how to make money on eBay, make a big mistake by jumping into this method without prior research. Make sure you do your research before spending money buying a truck load of items!
Use drop shipping
Drop shipping is probably one of the easiest yet most controversial ways of making money by selling stuff on eBay. Its not that easy to find legitimate drop shipping companies, but when you do, it is so easy to make money with it. You dont have to deal with anything like handling, shipping, processing, returns and etc. You simply list the items on eBay and drive potential buyers to your listing When they buy a product, you get your commission. Simple as that!
Buy stuff from classified ads sites and sell on eBay
If you already know how to make money on craigslist, then this method is going to be easy for you. Take advantage of the want it now feature on eBay to find out what items are hot and on demand. Then go to a classified site like craigslist and look for those items. Many times you can buy those items for very cheap. And sometimes you may even get lucky and get those items for free on craiglists FREE section. Craigslist can be a gold mine if you know what you are looking for.
Making money on eBay is still one of the best ways to make money online. There might be other ways to make money on eBay as well, but, most of them will come down to the above mentioned methods, and all of above methods basically come down to supply and demand. Find whats on demand and supply it to those who are demanding it. Now you know how to make money on eBay!

How to Make Money Online Blogging?

How do you make money online blogging? What do you need to start making money with your blog? It seems like everybody is making money online blogging these days. And you want to make money as well, but, dont know where to start. Well, here is a simple 7 steps process to help you start earning money as a blogger.

To make money online as a blogger, you need to have a plan. Its not really that hard to make a regular income as a blogger, once you know what to do. The process is fairly simple and identical to any other business plan. Take it step by step, and soon enough you will be making money online blogging.

Find out peoples problems
This is the most important part of the whole process. Your goal is simply to find what people are interested, or what their problems are, and provide a solution. This process is also known as niche finding or keyword research. Use online keyword tools like Googles keyword research tool to find out what people are looking for. If people are searching for a term, obviously that means they are interested in knowing more about it, whether its a product, service or just information. You can also use online forums, eBay, Amazon and other sources to find out whats hot.

Find products that can solve those problems
Now that you know what people are interested in, what their problems are or what they need, its time to search for product or services that can answers those questions, that can solve those problems. There are many affiliate marketing networks out there that you can use to search and find product and services related to your niche which you can become an affiliate of and make money by sending buyers to them.

Set up your blog
I would suggest you get your own domain name and hosting plan. This way you will have control over your blog. But, if you dont feel comfortable yet to spend money on your own domain name and hosting account (which will probably cost you lees than $10 a month), you can use free blogging platforms like blogger or wordpress.

Create quality and informative content
Now its time to provide information to attract people to your blog. Of course you have to create content related to whatever subject you have chosen in the first step. The best way to do this is to find out what are the questions that people are asking, questions related to the specif niche you have chosen. Once you know the questions, read and research to find out the answers. Now you can use those questions and answers to base your content on. Create content that are actually useful and informative.

Put your affiliate links in your blog
This is how you will make your money as a blogger. Simply place your affiliate links for the product(s) that you become an affiliate of, in your blog, between your posts, wherever appropriate. Whenever a visitor clicks on that link and buys the product, you get a commission.

Monetize your blog with Google ad sense
Another way to make money with your blog is to sing up for adverting companies like Google ad sense, and place their ads on your blog. Anytime someone clicks on any of those ads, you will get a commission. Its smaller than the commission earned by selling affiliate products, but your visitors dont need to purchase anything in order for you to get a commission. Your commission is based on the number of clicks you get on those ads, which range from $0.10 to up to $20 or more per click!

Sell ad space on your blog
Another great way to make money with your blog, is to offer advertising space to others. As your blog grows and attracts more and more visitors, you can sell ad space on your blog and make more money with your blog.

No matter which method you choose for making money with your blog, its always a good idea to diversify. Do not put all of your eggs in one basket. Use multiple sources to make money on your blog, so if one day there is a problem with one method, you wont lose all of your earnings. Other than that, thats basically it. Follow this simple method and soon enough you will be making money online blogging.
