How to Use Post Title As Title Tag in Blogger Blog

I presume you already understand the importance of title tag in Onsite SEO. You may have noticed that blogger blogs do not use your post titles as the title tag of your individual posts. Its code structure is something like this.

That means it first considers the blog title which you had written as shown in the image below and then the post title.

Which you can see browser top bar after opening any of your blog posts. But search engines read up to 66 characters. So even if you are writing a keyword rich post tile for your blog posts, blogger by default mess it up when it comes to optimizing your title tag of individual blog posts.

If you are targeting only one keyword which you are using as your blog title, there is no need to change the the title tag structure. But bloggers normally target different keywords for each and every blog posts which requires changing the structure of the title tag.

Here is what you have to do

Before you change anything taking a backup of the template is recommended. Go to Template. Click on Edit html. Click Proceed. Find the code below

replace the code (Blue) above with the code (Red) given below.

Preview the template to see whether it gives any error and then save. You are now done. Now search engines will consider your post titles as the title tag of the post concerned.

Hi Chandan,

I have created a blog with the research you suggested. I have used a title that is keyword rich and metatag description which has the keywords. In addition to that I pasted your code in the recomendation above which is in red replacing the blue text.

However my blog does not show up in google search. I know about page ranks but do not how to use them in blogs. Another thing is that do I have to mention the category of the blog, because the keyword tool asks for category when showing the results. I am not sure what will help. I am a rookie in this and the objective is I want my blog to be seen by people.

Can you help.

Daiva, thanks for listening to me and commenting. First of all, you should have mentioned your blog url to let us know about it. It is understood that you created a blog keeping keywords in mind. But you didn�t say when did you create it. How many posts have you written? It may take time to show up. As long as getting visibility for your targeted keyword is concerned, it�s not all about the onpage factors, your blog or blog posts has to attract links from other online resources as a signal that you have good content in your blog. Learn about link building. In recent times it�s better if you don�t take keyword rich domain name especially after Google�s exact match domain (emd) update. Learn to build links in a Google friendly way otherwise your blog may never see the light of the Google SERP.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have only one post and was trying to see if I am doing it right. � understand the choice of the niche is also important. Let me try building links as you suggested in a google friendly way.
